He started at Real Oviedo from 2001-2003, then moved to Real Madrid Youth team from 2003-2006. He was then promoted to the first team of Real Madrid and played from 2006-2007.
Later on in the year, he moved to Valencia CF and stayed there till 2011.
From 2011-2014 he played for Chelsea.
Then moved to Manchester United.
